Brooklyn Pier 6

For Playgroup we went to Brooklyn Pier 6. It has a really fun play, sand and water area plus a beautiful view of Manhattan. After the park we went to Jaques Torres for waffle and ice cream.

In the last week of the show "Catch Me if You Can", Marcia and Bryce got to see one of the performances. It was pretty much the same plot as the movie, but with lively dance numbers, and enjoyable songs. We were pretty bummed out that this show was getting pulled since we had so much fun. Well, at least we got to see it!

Hurricane Irene 08/28/11

Hurricane Irene came through NYC and for the most part it was uneventful. I did however take these two pics showing how high the water level got in comparison to the statues in the east river, and the tree that got knocked down behind our building. On the bright side, we found a stick that inspired us to make some homemade bows and arrows.

Sam's 7th Birthday

For Sam's 7th birthday, we took him to Toys R us and had him pick some toys. Then we had some cake at home and went to Chuck E Cheese.

Serendipity/Ryan Lennberg/Summer Days 8/17/11

Ryan Lennberg (one of Bryce's high school friends) came to NYC on a business trip and he came to visit us while he was here. We went to Serendipity and got their Frozen Hot Chocolate. Yummy! Did you know that they filmed part of "I am legend" in Serendipity?

We had to take him to Times square of course!

There was an event where Park avenue was closed so bikers could ride their bikes from 60th, all the way to the Brooklyn bridge. Sam and Bryce took advantage of this unique opportunity, and it was a blast! It is such a cool feeling to cruise down Manhattan with a bunch of other bikers enjoying a beautiful day, and lots of sights and sounds. NYC is such a fun place! (although I'm sure anyone trying to drive a car in the city today hated it...
